You have questions, we have answers. We have answered the most common questions about HoneyLocks Hair Extensions below.
Caring for your Honeylocks is not difficult. However, it does require routine maintenance for lasting results. Follow these instructions to care for and optimize the lifetime and wear of your Honeylocks System. It is very important to keep the hair clean. We suggest that you wash the hair once a week with warm or cold water. When dirt and sweat accumulate, hair tangles. Using too much hair conditioner and other hair care products will create a build up on the hair causing it to tangle faster. If the hair feel dry or heavy with build up, wash it with shampoo and conditioner.

Yes! Absolutely you can! I frequently put my Honeylocks extensions in a pony tail especially when I work out at the gym. Here's a picture I took with my cell phone of my Honeylocks extensions in a pony tail (click the image to expand).
Most Important -- Keep your Honeylocks clean
We advise you to STAY AWAY from putting products directly in the hair that contain high levels of alcohol (ie. Hair Sprays, Spritz etc.), as these products can damage the hair and cause shedding or breakage.
You MUST clean all the glue residue off your Honeylocks System when you remove them.
Comb your Honeylocks from the tip up, holding the hair above as you comb so that it won't pull on your system. Use a ventilated wig brush to comb your Honeylocks, NOT a bristle brush.
Your Honeylocks System will last 2 to 4 weeks before removal, cleaning and reinstallation is required.
Depending on how much you wear, and how well you take care of your Honeylocks, you can re-use them over and over again.
You must have at least 4 inches of natural hair at the nape area.
When choosing a color to match your own hair, choose a color that matches your hair from the middle to the ends of your natural hair. Never buy hair that is the color of your out growth as that is always darker. The blending of your hair on the bottom part is the most important. We sell color rings so you can get an exact match. Honeylocks System comes in many beautiful shades to choose from.
*Color rings cost $20.00. Once you return the color ring back to us we credit that amount on your account.
Absolutely! This is your new hair. Curl it and have fun. You will find that your hair extension will stay clean and curled for days. Woke up too late this morning? No problem. Your hair still looks great! This does not apply to all hair curl patters. Deep wave and very curly textures you may want to brush out or it can get frizzy. Although you can use a hair dryer, we recommend air drying your Honeylocks System.
Wash the hair in one direction, from top to bottom. Avoid washing your Honeylocks System upside down, in the sink. Use shampoos and conditioners that are for dry hair, adding the most moisture. Wash hair right after swimming. When brushing your hair, start from the bottom and work your way up while holding the top part to keep it from shedding or stretching.
Moisture is the most important thing. Please do not use products for oily hair or clarifiers that take out chlorine or product build up. These leave hair dry. Use styling products that are zero or low alcohol. Products for dry hair are the best. Honeylocks recommended hair care products, spray in conditioners, glossifiers are best.
Absolutely. Feel free to swim in pools, the ocean and hottubs as you normally would. It is best to wash your Honeylocks right after swimming. Also, keep in mind that salt water can take all the moisture out of the hair and it can tangle. Add a spray in conditioner after swimming. However, we do recommend that you wear a swim cap.
No one should be able to tell. Choosing the right color, curl pattern, size and having a professional stylist that knows how to blend hair extenstions with your natural hair is important. With the right application no one will know they are there.
They are easy, and fun to apply! At first they may take you longer to install, but after a few installations you will be able to accomplish it in 8 - 14 minutes. Your Honeylocks System is very secure and easy to install. You do not need to be a stylist and can do this in the privacy of your own home. Honeylocks comes with easy instructions showing how to apply the hair. You can view our videos to see how easy it is yourself.
Easy!! Honeylocks comes with care instructions. you will shampoo and condition with a mild shampoo for dry hair. You do not have to do this often. Extension hair does not get as dirty as your regular hair. The less you wash them, and the limited use of hair care products will ensure your Honeylocks last a long time. Use a leave in detangler or glossifier. Use only low settings on curling irons and hair dryers. Let hair dry naturally if you can.
Yes, depending on the severity of the thinning. You will need enough hair (approx 4 inches of natural hair at the nape area) to lay over the top of the weft to cover it. Backcombing the hair above the weft can help hide the weft.
Yes, you can cut your Honeylocks Hair Extension System. The hair tends to be a bit thinner towards the end of the extension, just like real hair growth. We recommend giving your Honeylocks a trim or cut to get the style you are looking for. This will clean up the ends so they are blended to your natural hair.
Unfortunately, at this time there is no return policy. This is mainly due to the fact that each Honeylocks System is specially designed for your nape measurments and color match as well as manufacturer's policy and sanitary reasons. All sales are final.
